Fish Pie

Time: 20 minutes                     Cooking time: 40 minutes                       Difficulty: Easy

Description:  This is my son’s favourite meal ever, it’s creamy, fishy and eggy.


  • Mixed fish from fishmonger
  • Celeriac
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Parsley
  • Dill
  • Fresh peas
  • Sweetcorn
  • 2 Large potatoes
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Creme fraiche
  • 3 hard boiled egg


For the mash, very simple,  boil potatoes and celeriac together, drained the water, mash it all and big spoon of Creme fraiche ( of course I’m French !), salt and pepper and big lump of butter, et Voila ….

Make a roux, with flour and butter (equal part) in a big pan, when it starts bubbling pour milk. After 5 minutes put your fish mixed and poached to cook, for about 5 minutes and add your veggies and herbs, and cook for an other 2/3 minutes, remember it need to be liquid.

Put the mix in a oven dish, deep enough for the cream, put your fish first and after the creamy sauce, egg cut in half on top,  and lay your mash on top, sprinkles with Emmental cheese et Voila …
