Japanese Fried Chicken Karaage

Time: 20 minutes                                                                                                      Difficulty: Easy

Description: This fried chicken recipe is fantastic ! the light coating make it very crispy and you don’t feel guilty eating fried chicken ! my whole family loves it !


For the marinade:

  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 big piece of ginger minced
  • 3 tsp of light Soy sauce
  • 500 g chicken thighs skinless and boneless
  • 1 tsp of Mirin
  • Sliced fresh spring onion
  • 1 L of groundnut oil
  • Rice flour for coating

Direction: Cut the chicken in small pieces.

Put all the ingredients for the marinade together with the chicken and marinade in the fridge over night.

Heat 1 litre of groundnut oil in high heat, while heating the oil, coat the marinated chicken in Rice flour to coat.

When the oil is very hot, put the chicken in small batch and cook it 4 minutes each side

and it’s done !
